Pakistani Wedding Extravaganza

We had the privilege of designing this vibrant Pakistani-American wedding celebration for two of the most wonderful people we've had the pleasure to work with (and brides don't get much more beautiful than Asma in her stunning gold gown!)  Asma & Doug live in New York City and wanted a destination wedding reception here in Phoenix, since they were married already in a small family-only ceremony in Chicago.

Asma wanted the bold colors of fuschia and tangerine and we added subtle gold accents to soften the look.  Per Pakistani tradition, lots of low seating on colorful pillows and bolsters were added, and a beautiful Pakistani swing for them to sit on was center stage.

Some of the best parts of this 3-day celebration were the Pakistani dances to 'entertain' the bride and groom, where the entire family on both sides choreographed dance after dance - including the little ones.  So. Much. Fun.  And the beautiful henna, and then there are the incredible hand-made jeweled Pakistani gowns and bangles that they offered all of the female guests the opportunity to wear to the reception.  You've got to love a culture where the women are so unbelievably elegant and bejeweled and there's so much energy and dancing and honoring of the marriage.

The blending of these two families couldn't be more perfect - such genuine, nice people and we couldn't be happier for them!
