Special thanks to my partner in crime, Kristin Hower, who made it all so much fun to work on, and whose skills and expertise made Très Chic shine.
The event was called An Evening with Gatsby and, paying homage to The Great Gatsby book by F. Scott Fitzgerald, we wanted to create a party like no other - hosted at the fictitious character's grand estate (McCormick Ranch Golf Club). Jay Gatsby was notorious for throwing wild, luxurious parties that felt like New Year's Eve all the time. To help lend to the feel of era, we used a color palette of gold, blush & white, with lots of fur, feathers, sequins and pearls. We featured key details like serving gold glitter-rimmed champagne, gold confetti shooting out of canons, delicious food served out of old fashioned martini glasses, live goldfish (very popular back then) floating in our centerpieces and even a huge goldfish ice sculpture. We had flapper girls, a live band playing 20's/30's music on round, white stages in the center of the room, a fantastic torch singer, servers wearing white dinner jackets and bow ties, and the leading men of the evening wearing tuxes and fedoras.
Many guests dressed the part in 20's garb, and they were treated to some fantastic photos with a pristine 1931 convertible Studebaker. We had our own Mr. Gatsby roaming the party and chatting it up with the ladies, and as he thanked the guests for coming at the end of the evening, he led them outside to the back lawn for an explosive fireworks show over the lake, which blew people away.
Sound fun? It was! Enjoy the photos below, Courtesy of the fabulous Katrina Wallace Photography.
More photos of the live outdoor photo booth with our beautiful Studebaker car, and more pics of the guests enjoying the party to come!

Monica
